The Light Hits The Wall

The Light Hits The Wall is an atmospheric wall piece comprising 27 paintings on diamond-shaped wooden pieces completed intermittently for two years at Dreamers Welcome. The 27 diamonds are rearrangeable with no preset format or order. Conarro’s intention is for the individual pieces to be taken apart and exist as separate artworks.

This project is an exercise of Inconsequential Decision Making, a freestyle painting process that Conarro developed to create a meditative space where Conarro can distill other ideas. The Light Hits The Wall represent a critical part of Conarro's process, where she unceremoniously applies paint to the panels while working mentally on more conceptual aspects of her broader practice. The creative process was site-specific in a communal area of Conarro’s studio space. While most works of art are not shared until they are complete, this piece was on display since its inception, affecting the chromatic mood of the multi-functional loft space, Dreamers Welcome, where Conarro hosts other creative projects..
